PP266 The Chinese Bench
Description
This bench was originally designed in 1946 for Fritz Hansen by Hans J. Wegner. However, it did not go into production before 1991 at PP Møbler.
Like the Chinese Chairs pp56 and pp66, the bench is a challenge for the craftsman due to the long, bearing wooden element. Therefore, it was only because of the new pre-compression technique that it became possible to make a version suitable for production.
The bench is completely identical to Wegner's famous Chinese Chairs; it is merely an extension of the chair format.
The bench is available in soaptreated, lacquered or black lacquered ash wood.
