The Kong chair and barstool by philippe starck from Emeco. kong was unveiled at the milan furniture fair in 2003. originally designed for a chinese restaurant in paris, inspired by the furniture of versailles and hand made in pennsylvania, kong recalls french designs of the classic era. made of brushed or polished aluminium, this chair is built to undergo punishment and is tested to withstand 1,700 pounds of weight. three times stronger than steel due to a proprietary heat treatment, kong is meant to last for centuries. free shipping in the continental united states.
