Designer: Evelyne Merkx
Evelyne Merkx is one of the Netherlands' top five interior architects. At age 32 Merkx studied at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. When she graduated she started her own studio. Together with her business and life partner Patrice Girod, they successfully manage running Merkx & Girod agency with a team of 20.
The agency have work on a diverse range of projects, from converting private homes and fashion boutiques to redesigning Holland's most prestigious department-store chain "De Bijenkorf" and refurbishing the Hema superstores.
Merkx designed the new ABN Amro Head Office in Amsterdam and converted the first-class restaurant at Amsterdam Central Station. The next assignment is already awaiting: setting up a new shopping and bar & catering section at Schiphol's national airport D-pier.
For Bulo Merkx designed the Spine table part of the Carte Blanche collection.
