History, craftsmanship, and utilitarian design are at the very core and foundation of Emeco. Founded in 1944 by Wilton C. Dinges, the Electrical Machine and Equipment Company—a quintessentially American shop—is based in Hanover, PA. Emeco has been the leading manufacturer of handcrafted aluminum chairs for 65 years.
Emeco uses 80% recycled aluminum content to make all their chairs. Of the recycled aluminum, half is post consumer (soft drink cans) and half is postindustrial (manufacturing scrap). Chairs made out of virgin aluminum have an energy density that is 17 times higher than that of Emeco chairs. Emeco all-aluminum chairs are 100% recyclable.
